Train Hopping at the OK Corral

In a public restroom in
the Parisian Gar Du Nord
I peed next to a policeman who was also peeing.
There were no dividers,
our piss steamed
into a collection at the ceiling and I imagined myself reaching my trigger
finger to the holstered gun his hip offered up
to my youth.
In the AM haze
I closed my fly.
He spoke to me
as I washed my hands,
but I did not
understand him,
apologized
for my blue Passport
left, bought a sandwich.
