Ex Nihilo
There’s fighting along the border.
For all we know, the queen of spades
could be beautiful naked.
Someone asks which god is God.
No one bothers to write down the answer.
A neighbor stands on his lawn,
shouts into the sky, “You bastards,
there are innocent people down here.”
