Not Enough Time

We don’t get enough time.
And a third of that
we sleep away.
And then there’s all those years
as a cube drone,
fronting up to a computer screen,
tapping away on the keyboard mindlessly.
What about watching repeats
on television.
Or listening to one sister dish dirt on another.
And let’s not forget childhood,
five, ten years of not even being aware
that there’s not enough time.
You toss a ball and catch it.
Everything else, you drop.
