The Buckfast Bottle

Down below
Bothwell Street[1]
Beyond the shoppers
On a Saturday afternoon
The only thing I see
A single empty buckfast[2] bottle
Placed on the pavement
Around which
The streets of offices
Make sense

[1] Bothwell Street - located very close to the centre of Glasgow with many administrative headquarters and call centres on it. [2] Buckfast - a tonic wine originally made by Benedictine monks in Devon, England. A popular drink amongst the young and disenfranchised of the West of Scotland for many years; it is cheap, very sweet and highly intoxicating.
